Converse, a clothing and shoe company and a subsidiary of Nike, Inc, is a world renown brand known for their internationally distinguishable shoes featuring the company’s star insignia and the All Star’s rubber sole. Converse partnered with digital consultancy firm Tacit Knowledge for their eCommerce expertise.
Converse, one of the world's most recognizable footwear brands, was ready to unify and modernize its eCommerce presence across the European market. The project was ambitious in scope: a multi-region platform built on Salesforce Commerce Cloud that could serve distinct European markets under a single brand experience while accommodating local differences in content, pricing, payment methods, and regional marketing. Tacit Knowledge, a digital consultancy with deep eCommerce expertise, was leading the engagement and needed to augment their engineering team with senior developers who could integrate quickly and contribute at an enterprise level from the start. They turned to Admios.
Approach
Admios provided four engineers to a twelve-person cross-functional team that included architects, analysts, developers, and infrastructure specialists. Working within Tacit Knowledge's delivery framework, the Admios engineers contributed to building a customizable Salesforce Commerce Cloud architecture designed to support the complexity of a multi-region launch. The platform allowed for per-market content and pricing adjustments, a flexible and modern UI, a new checkout flow with integrated payment gateways appropriate for each European market, and a "create-your-own" microsite capability that gave Converse's marketing teams new tools for regional campaigns. The Admios engineers were ramped up and contributing within two weeks of engagement — a pace that a direct hiring process for four senior engineers could not have matched.
Results
The project delivered a unified European eCommerce presence for Converse that met the brand, marketing, and sales goals set at the outset. The platform launched successfully across multiple European markets with a modern user experience and checkout flow built for regional nuance. The 14-month project finished several weeks ahead of schedule — a meaningful result on an enterprise engagement of this complexity, and a direct reflection of how quickly the Admios team integrated and reached full productivity. For Tacit Knowledge, the engagement demonstrated that nearshore staff augmentation could meet the standards of a high-profile enterprise eCommerce delivery without the ramp-up time or overhead of expanding a permanent team.
